Bear Medicine

“Bears are sensitive to Mother Nature’s cycles.  They sleep long hours in the winter living on fat stored in their bodies.  It teaches us how to go within and find the resources for survival and how to remain balanced amid change.  This medicine is a reminder of the great circle of life and rebirth, renewal and fresh beginnings”

“The Bear is the keeper of the dreamtime, and stores the teachings of dreams until the dreamer wakes up to them. Many tribes have called this space of inner-knowing the Dream Lodge, where the death of the illusion of physical reality overlays the expansiveness of eternity.”

“Bear knows precisely where to go to find the best of everything life has to offer because he/she has already dreamed it into being. Humans tend to discount their dreams, both the nightly variety and the sort we have while daydreaming.”

“Because the bear is cautious, it encourages discernment to humankind.

Because of a fierce spirit, the bear signals bravery to those who require it.

Because of its mass and physical power, the bear stands for confidence and victory.

Because it prefers peace and tranquility (in spite of its size), Bear calls for harmony and balance.”
